Hi Christina, Your comment is confusing. Madagascar Squacco Heron is Madagascar Pond Heron, just different names. Ardeola ralloides is Common Squacco Heron. Is this what you mean? The image quality is v. poor, so it's impossible to be certain. Nonetheless, here is a reply comment from an expert: "I suspect this is Mada(gascar Pond/Squacco Heron), or a hybrid? I don't think (Common) Squacco would ever moult to that white, but Mada shouldn't show the ginger wash, but we have seen some Madas in Madagascar over the last few years that show this so I think there might be a bit of hybridisation going on.... I think this species is Madagascar Squacco Heron Ardeola ralloides.
